Small Night: Featuring James Hart III & Travis Cebula

 
Hurray for Small Night! I want to invite you to a small poetry reading at our home. I will be cooking and it should be a real hoot of a time. Travis Cebula is on his westward tour and he will be reading, as will James Hart III. Travis Cebula has two book with BlazeVOX [books]: ITHACA: A LIFE IN FOUR FRAGMENTS and Under the Sky They Lit Cities. James Hart III is here in support of his BlazeVOX book Uncomfortable Clowns ms #77.
 
 
James Hart III lives in south-west Detroit, and currently has published two other ms. the wathchablr book, a book of experimental prose (weightless language press) (2003), and white holes ( Marick 2006). A chap-book high-coup (Slack-Buddha, 2010). Most recently a collaboration with Emily Brent smoke in the drawer/one with seed, (Papa-Waltz press, 2012) His work has appeared in The Past Tents Press on-line anthology, Door jamb Press: Dispatch issues 6 & 7, The Café Review, 6x6 #23 Ugly Duckling Presse (amongst others). An experimental review of Bill Berkson’s Portrait & Dream, appears at jacket2.org. A writing of complete anagram fragment, with a theoretical preface, appears at OutofNothing.org. He is the editor and director of white print inc, a new avant-garde Detroit press dedicated to emerging writers as well as the poetic history of the Cass Corridor, (a Detroit neighborhood which became associated with a group of artists), and beyond (toward our unnamed genre). He is curator of the Woodward-Line reading series (thewoodwardline @facebook , a nationally visible venue in its 11th year. In 2001 he corresponded with Jacques Derrida, whom expressed great interest in his work.
 
 
Travis Cebula writes, edits, and teaches creative writing in Maryland. He graduated from the MFA program at Naropa University in 2009—the same year he founded Shadow Mountain Press. His poetry, stories, essays, reviews, and photography have appeared internationally in various print and online journals. He is the author of five chapbooks and two full-length collections of poetry. In 2011, Western Michigan University awarded him the Pavel Srut Fellowship.

Wednesday's Poem | Featuring Leah Umansky

Hurray! It is Wednseday once again and we have a wonderful poetry reading by Leah Umansky in Rochester, NY. Leah wa part of our fine reading at Bryant Park but unfortunately, we do not have that video. Luckily, we have a video of Leah reading, taken the Saturday after our NYC reading. So hurray and enjoy.
