Timothy David Orme’s mysterious Oponearth performs a gramatica parda, the tawny and unaccomodated language longed for by Thoreau a century ago. Reading here, you will walk, through a palimpsest scored by history to arrive at Origin. For this collection is—bafflingly, generously, beautifully—original, and readers will find the world informed by something close to the sound of a tree growing, when closing the cover on the last page, they are returned, newly, to the day.
